The City of Phoenix Youth Programs offer pathways to success. If you are a youth that is looking to get back into school, start college planning or begin your career preparation our programs will work with you to create your college and career blueprint. Services include: Advice and planning; College preparation; Leadership programs; Basic skills training; Tutoring; Career readiness; Support services; Education planning; and Career guidance.

Attached is a flyer with details. For an application or more information, visit https://www.phoenix.gov/hr/current-jobs/. Information can also be found at www.phoenix.gov/econdev/arizona-at-work/youthprograms. Below is a quick list of the criteria for consideration in this program:
- Youth must be between ages 16 – 24 at time of application
- Must reside in city of Phoenix
- All youth selected must complete a 2-day (unpaid) work readiness workshop prior to start of work
- Youth must have reliable transportation
- Youth must be available to participate in full length of internship program, 5 weeks, $11/hour, June 17 – July 19, 2019
- Work assignments are located throughout Phoenix Valley and youth must have ability to get to work site regardless of proximity to residence
- Application deadline is May 13, 2019, and can be submitted to [email protected] or in person
- Youth will be selected to participate randomly due to limited space/opportunities

JEROME E. MILLER SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (JEM)

The Leadership Academy was developed to commemorate the leadership, service, and legacy of Jerome E. Miller, former Phoenix Deputy City Manager. The goals of the academy are to expose high school 11th and 12th-grade students to careers in public service, fuel and diversify the pipeline for public service, and prepare students for college, career and life success.
