Vision Statement
The vision of the Yuma County Workforce Development Board is to serve as a strategic leader and convener of local workforce development system stakeholders. The Yuma County Workforce Development Board partners with employers and the workforce development system to develop policies and investments to support workforce systems and support regional sector partnerships, career pathways, and high quality, customer-centered service delivery and services delivery approaches.
Yuma County Workforce Development Board (YCWDB) Members
Members of the Local Workforce Development Board are appointed by the Yuma County Board of Supervisors (BOS). The Board is comprised of industry leaders in private business, government, labor, and community-based organizations. Board membership requirements are spelled out in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act:
At least 51% of members are business owners, CEOs, or senior level executives
Not less than 20% are representative of the workforce including labor
organizations, registered apprenticeship programs, community-based organizations and
youth focused organizations in Arizona
Core programs (such as adult education, training, career services, etc.) are represented on the Council
Disclosure Statement: Pursuant to the A.R.S § 38-431.02, all notices of the meetings will be electronically posted to the general public at ARIZONA@WORK-Yuma County website and Yuma County Board of Supervisor (BOS) website. Physically posted at Yuma Private Industry Council: Administration Building located at 3834 W 16 th Street, Yuma AZ, 85364, and BOS kiosk located at 198 S. Main Street, Yuma AZ, 85364. Notice of meetings and agendas are posted 24 hours prior to any meeting. Such notices will include date, time, and place of the meeting. A remote/online access to the YCWDB public meetings will be available via meeting agendas. The YCWDB meets the second Wednesday in September, November, January, March, May and June.
The Purpose of the Workforce Development Board
- Provide strategic and operational oversight in collaboration with the required and additional partners and workforce stakeholders to help develop a comprehensive and high-quality workforce development system in the Yuma County Workforce Develpment Board and larger planning groups;
- Assist in the achievement of Arizona's stategic and operational vision and goals as outlined in the Unified State Plan of Combined State Plan; and
- Maximize and continue to improve the quality of services, customer satisfaction, and effectiveness of the service provided.
