Gain the Skills to Become an Engineering Technician in Just 16 Weeks!

Maricopa County was awarded back-to-back grants from the Governor's Office to Pilot a program to provide occupational skills training programs to the rural communities of Gila Bend, Wickenburg, and Queen Creek. This program is in collaboration with the Maricopa County Community College District's Corporate College, with the goal of offering career pathways to residents without requiring them to travel far into the Phoenix metro area.

In 2025, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the extension of the program. Building on the success of the inaugural year, the second year will expand to eight classes, accommodating a total of 96 participants. This expansion reflects the growing demand for accessible career training and job placement services in rural areas. Training will be available for in-demand industries including healthcare and manufacturing.

Offered in Queen Creek, the Engineering Technician program provides participants with hands-on training and industry-recognized certifications to prepare for entry-level technician roles at no cost! This course focuses on workplace safety, electrical fundamentals, mechatronics and automation, hydraulics and pneumatics, and technical and employability skills.

Application Deadline: Tuesday, May 27, 2025! Apply today!
